Nasir HASSAN Pakistan

I am Hassan Nasir Mirbahar. I am the Program Manager at Cavish Development Foundation. There is funny story regarding my work actually; when I applied for the CO Course 2008 I was working wtih Cavish (my current organizations) but when I was selected and came to participate in CO Course 2008, I had left Cavish and was working with LEAD Pakistan (an INGO working on sustainable development and environmental issues); but so after graduating from CO Course 2008 I rejoined Cavish as Program Manager.

This time around, actually, I am Executive Director of this organization but the Board of Directors did not give me exact title too early they want me to prove my potential to earn the title Executive Director. After attending the CO Course, I prefer to stay as CO then a high profile Development Sector professional engaged in 9-5 jobs; so I thin there is nothing in the title I would rather want to prove myself in community organizing for their empowerment  

What I work with, currently, I am more focused on restructuring and reorganizing the Cavish and its work as well. In this regard, we have identified three strong areas to work and all of them rotate around community organizing: 1) organizing communities in Rawalpindi on urban issues, 2) organizing youth on good governance and human rights, 3) organizing women for reducing gender disparities, attaining more women empowerment.

All of these initiatives would not initially be not supported by any donor; we'll initiate the CO process the SEAPCP way. In this regard, I am going hire some volunteers and utilze our existing staff, train them in CO the SEAPCP way and send them to these communities. Trust me there is no or low cost involved in all of these initiatives.
